Music Therapist – Board Certified (MT-BC)

This is a unique opportunity to be a part of a trend-setting interdisciplinary team as well as creation of expanded music therapy services and potentially an accredited internship program.

We are looking for a seasoned Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) who is able to work with the Clinical Director to re-establish clinical procedures and processes. This person must have a passion to make a difference and share our vision to integrate the arts into mental health services in a group psychology and behavior therapy practice!

This is an opportunity for a visionary to create an effective music therapy program from the ground up by establishing themselves as an innovator and as a clinical resource for other staff in the center. In addition, there is opportunity to create:

  • Outpatient mental health groups for children, teens, and young adults
  • Telehealth music therapy services
  • Policies and procedures for music therapy evaluation and treatment align with current clinical services
  • As services grow, advancement potential and leadership opportunities are anticipated.

Historically, our music therapists have worked in a variety of settings including: classroom, clinic, and private homes in Greater South Florida. The ideal candidates will have strong clinical skills with 2-5 years working as a music therapist in a variety of clinical settings. Preference given to those with experience working in mental health settings, group homes, and children with developmental disabilities and autism in both individual and group settings.

We strive to support career development and anticipate growing music therapy services around the interests and talents of this new professional. There is ability to establish services in a number of directions. We are seeking a confident and articulate music therapist who is proactive, self-motivated, team-oriented, has strong communication skills, and demonstrates strong organizational skills.

The successful candidate will also obtain credentials as a Registered Behavior Technician (company sponsored) and work collaboratively with other disciplines including psychologists, mental health counselors, and behavior analysts.

Must have reliable transportation and ability to work independently. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus!
